Meet the Host

Larry Peña is a writer, entertainer and trivia aficionado born and raised on the Central Coast. In his day job he writes and edits content for higher education, where he has regular access to some of the smartest people in SLO County. At night he stays up reading and googling things he’s curious about, and on the weekends he dresses up in medieval garb to fight other nerds in a local LARP. He’s been a finalist on the Game Show Network trivia quiz show MasterMinds, where he won $1,000 that he spent immediately. In addition to hosting trivia, he also hosts karaoke at Bang the Drum Brewery on the last Friday of every month. Stop and say hi when you see him — unless he’s scrambling to finish writing the game at the last minute, he’s definitely down to chat.
